These are just wooden boxes of food – there isn’t really anything to do with

then and they are boring. I bought it with the cutting food which is a great

toy and the wooden kitchen which is nice – my 3yo also has a shopping cart

and the play food that comes with that which is nice. I wouldn’t have bought

it if I could see it first.

My boys actually never played with these, even to use as building blocks. They are well crafted, and neatly designed, but they are very heavy with sharp pointy ends on the square pieces. Perhaps they would be good in a classroom “store” role play setting, or I have seen museums that have grocery stores and kitchems set up for kids to role play in.

Made out of wood blocks, paint looks good. Not heavy, good size for our Kidkraft Deluxe Let’s cook kitchen. My set came with 12 items, Waffles, icecream, Spaghetti Pasta, Orange Juice, Mustard, Ketchup, sugar, salt, rice, soup, cereal and pretzels. It was in Melissa and Doug wooden tray. Tray is too long for our kitchen it doesn’t fit in the dishwasher, oven or refigrator storage areas. It’s good to keep the wooden tray (or basket)so if you ever need to store play food …it will come handy. For right now my kids like to keep the food in the Refigrator so I saved the tray in our garage.

What quality. My 5 year old daughter has had this for a long time and it’s still here and she’s still playing with it. I wouldn’t recommend it for toddlers who like to throw their toys, but for those who enjoy pretend play, this is great. The paint doesn’t chip or fade and the wood doesn’t splinter. It really holds up with time.

This item was purchased for my 1-1/2 year old. She loves it. Love that it contains some items that don’t come in traditional play food sets. And the wooden material is wonderful – versus the traditional cardboard boxes that just fall apart. A must for any play kitchen.
